If time is equated with money, scuba diving is by far the most expensive. For every hour when I'm actually diving, takes up at least eight hours of my time. :D

This may be a bigger project than I thought! Tx for the material folks. Keep it coming. I may need to wait for Intel's next chip to process it. If you are speaking to a potential scuba student, how do you position cost of sampling sport vs. other alternatives?

Ifukuda has it right. Also someone pointed out the huge variables in golf. Some golfers change their gear every year or two. Until this year i played with a 28 year old set of irons which cost me £150. Also in the Uk the price of a round is so variable. Wentworth where they play the World Match Play will set you back around £100 - the local municipal might cost you £10-15.

Nonetheless Golf and Scuba are both great pastimes.

but I can't stand the plaid pants, so I took up PDGA disc golf instead. Golf "frisbees" are only about $14 a piece, and a decent set with a driver, putter, mid-range, and a few "special condition" discs will only run about $100 and will last quite a while (excepting water hazards). Most fields are under $10 for greens fees (if not free), and even serious players tend to be WAY more laid back than the typical "ball chaser".

Other than that, it's basicly the same game though... a long walk with lots of swearing and a few moments of elation.

On the plus side, I can suit up and recover my lost discs on half a tank!
