I did't really know where to post this so here it is...

I'd like some feedback regarding scuba clubs. I've been asked to put a new club together and would like to know:

What you like about dive clubs?
What you don't like?
Do you mind a membership fee?
What kind of perks?

Anything else that would be helpful in putting a new group together. Just tell me what you like or don't like! And THANKS.

In no particular order of importance

  • Meeting other local divers
  • Club dive outings, holiday parties and other organized get-togethers
  • Social Interaction
  • Organized volunteer efforts (river cleanup, blood drive etc.)
  • Ability to interest non-divers in diving
  • Discounts on diving related items
Our club dues are $20 per year. Club members can get $10 off on up to two club organized boat dives per year.

A scuba club in your area may not be necessary. You already have quite a few divers in the PNW area that are diving on a regular basis. Go to the PNW regional forum and post there.

welcome
