My wife and I each have the same equipment configuration, so we spend the same amount of gear. We have different brand choices, but the costs are close in most cases.

Our dive trip costs are the same, since we tracel together.

The main difference is that she's a photographer, so her costs go up due to all of the additional gear.

I'm lucky to have a spouse that want's to pursue the same type of diving that I do (mostly wrecks), and the same travel goals (Palau and Chuuk), and the same training goals (Trimix).

We differ on photography. I'm not really interested in it, but I am very happy that she is. We've got a lot of dive photos because of it.

There's no need for me to hide any dive related expenses from my wife, I am thankful that I don't feel a need to.

If you do....I feel for you. Not all spouses are divers, which would change things I'm sure.

You need to add the "All my gear was $30 on eBay" option

Unfortunately my wife is the company accountant so she knows if I bought a burger at Mcdonalds. That said she's as hooked on scuba as I am so its easy to "justify" expenses

My wife is the one that pointed me towards the LDS that certified me. She doesn't dive. We are at the point now that when I come home with something she usually just says "I don't want to know". Makes it pretty easy on me.

My wife is good with money and in retirement has started up a business. I'm a tightwad and in retirement have started up with SCUBA. There is no problem here.
