Sigh...Why oh why did I get involved in two of the most equipment intensive activities in the world? :freak:

Maybe I just have a fear of having a large bank account?

Golf.............

stick, ball, hole..................

I dont get what the big deal is about?

Mask, fins ...tank whats the big deal..?

Mark-just like scuba, you can spend big bucks on equipment!
There are titanium drivers that can go upwards of 600 bucks -mind you thats just one club..you need at least 10-13 of em!
I probably have 1500$ tied up in clubs alone....Its not a cheap sport and just like scuba there is always something new and better! :11:

I'm kind of a budget diver. I buy what I can't make or dont know how to. Even my boat is stripped down and I'm building the engine around a rebuilt block that I'm purchasing and buying a transmission to match it. My total investment will be less than 5k to get her in the water and functional as a dive boat. Not bad for a 27', eh?

My other interests, besides diving, pretty much require that I be self sufficient anyway, so I guess it just carries over :)

I have actually only once had the pleasure of playing a round of golf, and I thouroughly enjoyed it. I had great problems getting the ball off the ground, I believe there was something faulty with it as it kept zipping along the grass and not going far.

There was one crowning moment though. On the ninth hole, right in front of the clubhouse, I took one almighty swing from the tee off place, the ball soared like a living thing, and landed plop on the green, a few feet from the hole.

On that note, I pretended that all my shots had been like that and I retired to the clubhouse for a beer.

Those shots that go whizzing along the ground are called worm burners! I have had plenty of em as well..Ive been playing since I was a kid and at age 41 I still suck!!
Nothing like that beer at the 19th hole though!
Its a great game, but can be very frustrating.....

If you can just start Underwater Golf as a sport you'll have it made!
