Anyone have any tried and trusted means of removing scratches from the face of the dive computer display screen. In this case and UWATEC??

nope, the key is to use something like a ZAGG screen protector to prevent scratches in the 1st place.

If you put clear packaging tape over it (sort of like a retrospective screen protector) it masks existing scratches pretty effectively.

At least it did on my Suunto D9.

For obvious reasons, make sure you trim the tape very carefully.

tooth paste will polish plastic very nicely.
try it on some scrap plastic first.

Your local auto parts store should have a number of products intended to clear scratches from plastic (such as headlight housings).

Brasso for minor scratches.
Automotive headlight restoration kit for more serious stuff.
All require large amounts of "thumb grease".

I suppose you could polish them out with one of the above suggestions, but don't the scratches disappear underwater? Mine do.

Depending on the model, you might be able to just replace the screen. Replacements for the Tec 2g screen can be had from LeisurePro for about $10.
