I figure I can put some standard valves on these and get them hydro'd. Am I wrong? Formerly for firefighter apparatus

They are thin wall & high water capacity, so super buoyant. Thus, not really desirable as scuba tanks. They were last hydro'd in 98-99 so no problem there. They'd be good for beach dives.
Thanks for the info...they appear to be these but if they don't accept the valves I have laying around then yeah not such a good find. They are thin wall & high water capacity, so super buoyant. Thus, not really desirable as scuba tanks.
The necks are mostly likely 7/8"x14 UNF so the same valves as an old exemption series steel tank. Those will be 300 bar DIN and super annoying.
They are probably 45cf - so small, buoyant, with annoying 300bar valves. They might be cheap or free but after hydros and new valves you are going to be into them for $100+ each for 45cf cylinders that take an annoying amount of lead to sink.
Honestly you are better off recycling these for the scrap aluminum.
With the bad alloy cylinders, it's not about the last hydro, it's all about the first/born-on date. They were last hydro'd in 98-99 so no problem there. They'd be good for beach dives.
Based on the dimensions or?Thanks for the info...they appear to be these but if they don't accept the valves I have laying around then yeah not such a good find.
