For several years, I’ve searched online for a vintage PST “winebottle” SCUBA tank.

On Wednesday, 08 January 2025, I received a personal email message: allegedly via SCUBABOARD from jamesscarlett998, advising me that Rosen Howard had such a tank for sale.

I replied to the seller’s email address rosenhoward_@outlook.com; and he quickly replied to say he had such a tank for sale; and that he lived in Ft. Worth Texas.

Since then, I’ve sent several replies to Scarlett and Howard without reply; so, I got to wondering and did a search.

The addresses they gave me are not associated with SCUBABOARD. Furthermore, these people have been disclosed as SCAMSTERS in recent months on another website. (See pic.)

Be advised, the word is out: don’t give these people any money or you’ll regret it.

And yes, I am still a cash-buyer for a PST “winebottle” steel 72 made between July 1953 and January 1954 for USD “Rene” or Aqua Lung Inc. Please let me know if you really have one for sale. Thanks!

However, he was for about 2 hours last Wednesday before he was reported as a scammer and booted from the board.

Yep! Last Wednesday was when he sent me a personal message via my email; when I checked back, it said he was not at SCUBABOARD. I guess you guys had bounced him by then. Good work!

I just looked and mine is from 5/55 marked rene

Thanks for checking, Jim; but that 5/55 Rene has a convex base.

The winebottle (concave base) PST tanks went to USD (Rene Bussoz in SoCal) and Aqua Lung Inc. (Florida) from July 1953 through January 1954.

If you think of anyone who has one for sale, I'm a cash buyer.

Okay, this thread has been found by those who enjoy playing games with their computers; it happens.

Meanwhile, my search continues. If you have a vintage 1953 -54 PST "winebottle" tank, I am ready to buy.

I've been online since 1997 and this is no scam. Check me out.
