Well all in all we had a pretty good trip...some of the spots have been picked through rather quickly. I went past the research dock heading east, it will be on your right hand side...kept going past the seafood market/liquor store and kept going until I got to an opening on the side of the road...parked and waded out with the kayak. We got roughly 6 gallons between the three of us. Once shucked we got roughly 32 oz of meat. It was a fun day, exhausting though.
Bring water if your going, it took us roughly 4-5 hours to collect them due to our kayak drifting off anchor, plus it was my father and I's first time scalloping. Bring beer too...but make sure to stay hydrated, I quickly was buzzed due to the fact I had no water in me from being there all day.
Great experience for the family,
But next time, I'll go to the seafood market and buy 4 lbs for 22.00 as my friend did, and left all of his shelled ones for us to shuck...
