I've "upgraded" to Dive Rite RG2500.

Is the SB MK10 and G250 worth keeping?

Seriously, what do you think?

No, I will be glad to take of your hands. I would even pay for shipping.

In general I don’t even like plastic regulators, but the reputation of the SP MK10 and G250 speaks for itself.

I am sure the Dive Rite RG2500 is a nice regulator (I don’t know anything about it), but just based on the reputation of the SP MK10 and G250, you might have downgraded.
In worldwide service and access to parts, you definitely did.

Needed the DIN / yoke dealy; couldn't find one for SP. The DR seems to breathe way better than the old gear, but maybe I'm just breathing better?

How's $200 shipping? (just kidding..)

If the SP MK10 and G250 is not breathing well it probably needs service and fine tuning. I can't imagine it not being a top performer.

You can get the DIN adapter from several places. Here is one source:

In the case of the Dive Rite, I forgot that they do offer on line sales of parts, repair manuals, and what seems like excelent on line support. There is a lot to be said for that if you are a DIY (like I am).

If it's in good shape lots of people, myself included, would be interested. I'd hang onto it, but send me a PM if you really want to get rid of it.

I'm certain that if you got the MK10/G250 serviced correctly, and especially if it's the older style G250, it will breathe as well as the dive rite.

SP's universal DIN kit works on everything except the Mk 5 and they are every where. Plus Trident sells a generic model that works on them too, so finding a DIN conversion kit is not hard.

When you say you were unable to find a "DIN yoke dealy" I am thinking maybe you needed a DIN to yoke adapter, and since DIN and Yoke valves are standard, any DIN to Yoke adapter will fit any DIN regulator regardless of brand.

It's just my opinion, but the Mk 10 G250 is a lot like the B-52 bomber. Crews joke that when the last B-1 (the bomber that "replaced" the B-52) is flown off to the bone yard, a B-52 will arrive to pick up the crew. I'd keep your Mk 10 G250 as I suspect you will be using it when you can no longer get parts for your Dive-Rite.

just remember the quality of an older reg is directly proportional to the amount of people who offer "to take it off your hands since its a piece of junk anyway"

so, since its just a piece of junk...

I dive almost exclusively with Mk10/G250's and have no desire (or money!) to "upgrade" to anything else. My regs perform wonderfully even down to my basement depth of 200 feet. Even when two of them were in very bad mechanical shape, they still delivered air smoothly.

The dive rite rg 2500 is a far superiour reg its a apeks dst knock off i have one work

I also have a mk10 with is a good reg works great as a stage reg or poney
