i agreed to dive in the [big] shark infested waters outside pearl-harbor..
AT NIGHT!!! :biggrin3:
omg.. i was hearing the jaws theme as soon as i hit the water.. :sharkattack:

Are you friggin insane?!? :11: There used to be a club of oldtimers always fishing for tigers at the entrance. They reportedly hooked into some big 'uns. West and Middle Loch are known for being pupping grounds for hammerheads. Some evenings, we used to wade the little rock/coral shelf just over the wall around the harbor entrance by the Hickam O-club. Always had a light pointing into the water in the hope of a little warning from seeing glowing eyes. A 3ft conger ("tohe") once suddenly snaked between my legs from behind and I cartoon-launched the vertical 4ft back onto the wall.

Then again, we were once so desperate to get wet that we dove on the Kam flats just behind HIANG. An utter, absolute, complete, zero-viz disaster.

BTW, great pics.

roll..
me and rockjock are on the sea fox sunday morning..

yeah.. on some sea lancer dives.. i've seen mini-van sized galapagos sharks..
and on a single dive i saw 5 big hammerheads! they were majestic..

that other night i was totally spring loaded.. it was sooo pitch dark,
i was scanning the water with my HID like a wwII era seach light..
in order to, as you say, "get a little warning" from a couple of wide-set glowing eyes!
tho' come to think of it.. that would've been little consolation :11:

Yea, just like anything else. Its the one you don't see that gets you. I think if it was going to happen I don't want to know till it gets me. :D

By the way. My tanks have 32% in them now, so that should be good for Sunday.
