today i got to dive with pete [puddle pirate], tom [onfloat], and doug [dsteding]..
of course tom was sporting his black drysuit and steel doubles..
and it was finally good to see another person [doug] with a black DSS wing like mine..
[as opposed to becky's hot pink DSS wing :eyebrow: ]
it was amusing with 4 divers in-a-row walking down into sharks cove with 4 canister lights :D
imagine if we were just starting a night dive..
hmm.. would it even be a night dive at that point?

sharks cove was packed today..
a dozen dive vans, tons of cars, and a noisy ice-cream truck :14:

here's doug, tom, and pete..

and here's a slide show of all the critters i've seen at sharks cove the past couple weeks..

thanks to pete, tom, and doug for a good dive..
maybe next time.. doug will make a better effort to let me and pete know there was an eagle ray right above us as we emerged from the T-cave..
[heh.. we thought you were just flapping your arms because that's how they dive in seattle ]

I like your captions almost better than the pictures, especially "talk to the flipper"

Glad you had some great dives. I'm glad Doug got to see all those caves and caverns.

thanks becky..

i dove lanai lookout today..
someone was askin' about frog fish..
i've seen several frog fish there..
of all sizes [baby soft-ball size.. to large head cabbage size]
and colors [bright sponge-bob yellow.. tennis-ball green.. and dirty-grimy brown]
here're a couple..
bright yellow.. with just the start of coral/barnacle growth..

and this one you can hardly tell it's even a fish anymore.. it's so overgrown..

i'v also seen frogfish around the corner at portlock/china walls..
they like to paste themselves into the walls and reefs..

btw.. [and you can't tell from these shots]..
but they have the scariest looking set of demon teeth! :11:
i saw 'em up close.. when a surge made me brush up on one..
and i accidentally made it growl at me..

Great frogfish photos! I wish I didn't have to work so much! I'm turning into dust.

i soooo know what you mean.. last week.. [due to a wargame exercise]..
i went almsot 8 whole days without diving, working 12-hour days :11:
then i was so desperate to get wet..
i agreed to dive in the [big] shark infested waters outside pearl-harbor..
AT NIGHT!!! :biggrin3:
omg.. i was hearing the jaws theme as soon as i hit the water.. :sharkattack:

so.. has everyone voted or RSVP'd for the scuba board labor day dive/picnic?
