You would be surprised, if i got something wrong by not double checking it, i would most likely die or have a near death experience too - age isnt as much a factor in that! I appreciate your desire to keep things by protocol and do them at your own pace. I guess the fact that i only have to get my reg on my tank and attach the inflator hose, turn on and check pressure/function, sometimes check lights (when i carry them) and put my suit, booties, bc, mask and fins on, i cant see spending more than 10 mins on it all. You have a bit more gear and more checking to do when it comes to caving.
