Ok - we'll see you at Back Beach on Sunday. You can meet us at the bridge and ride with us if you want. Just trying to help a diver out.

Now that I'll seriously considor...we can talk about it tomarrow via PM...I wanna go diving just to rub John's nose in it

Gidds, you'll like Back Beach!! 30' max depth, stay to the left where the rocks and critters are. Nice dive....and a good intro to cape ann diving. Better vis and colder temps....YEAH!:D

We've only done 2 dives there - our last 2 checkout dives, which I think were at Front Beach, so I'm pretty excited about checking it out!

Not to be a buzz kill - but I think you will be bored to tears at Back Beach. It's a 15' sandy bottom unless you swim a long distance. I think you would be much more interested in Folly, Old Garden Beach, or Cathedral.

Jeff and Lisa, it was nice meeting you guys today at the Pond. I wish I had seen this thread before I headed down, if so I would have come over before the dive and said hello (and maybe I could have given you a few bp/wing tips). I have been diving this pond once or twice a month for the past few years (with lots of night dives) so I'll be sure to post-up the next time I go.

Overall conditions in the pond were very nice. bottom temps were between 39 and 41 degrees and the viz was great (and easy 20').

Great meeting you too, John.
Definitely look us up when you're in the area, we're always up for a dive!

Did you make it Back Beach? I hadn't checked the thread, so I wasn't looking for you. Despite what Matt said above, we had a great time exploring a thriving rock reef at about 25 fsw after a very short swim at low tide... it would have been deeper later in the day, but the vis was some of the best I've seen on a shore dive up here, and the bright sunshine really maximized the benefit of that vis. Gary didn't even need can light.

Matt - we didn't make it on Sunday. I definitely want to head up there and check it out...all the sites up there.
I'm going to keep an eye on the board and just see who's doing what in upcoming weekends, since we'd rather hook up with someone who knows the area. We really only know the Cape here.
Glad you had a good dive!!

I'll be sure to be heading up there in Feb. More than happy to let you know when going in advance. Want to do a dive with Vetdiver and hubby as well. Just need to monitor day tides, winds favorable and sun is forecast. Makes all the difference. A good first dive for Cape Ann is Folly cove.
