Diving yesterday was not for the faint of heart. We left o.c. inlet under sporty to snotty conditions bound south. The conditions proved to get worse as the day wore on so the Screw wreck was the destination. When we arrived the seas were allready building but we threw the hook and the dive was on. First team lol went in and I and Ketth started gearing up. Just as we were about to splash we heard a loud bump on the bottom of the boat, followed by copious amounts of air and bubbles. It was a north american free-flow in all its glory. Turns out a member of team 1 was having a "posiedan adventure". The diver was fine, diving a single tank with pony he had switched to his pony but failed to control his ascent. No biggy. He bounced off the bottom of the boat with his buddy in hot pursuit and swam down to hang on the down line and suck some happy gas for a while. After they got on board Keith and I splashed. Vis up top was a solid 30' and a balmy 70ish, three thermo clines later we were on the bottom in 51 ish and 15' vis. We took a tour of the wreck and saw most of it. There were a lot of nice flounder and one alpha taug on the wreck with a tag in his tail. Keith finnished up and I stayed a while longer till the chill chased me out with a total run time of 65 minutes. Back on the boat the conditions were worse. Now it was snotty. The decision was for one and done and we left. I slept most of the way back to be awakned by a weightless moment in my berth. Turns out it was a giant roller in the inlet. Another great day out on the water.
