Sarasota Diving?

A friend of a friend has invited me to come to Sarasota this summer, and I was hoping someone could tell me about the diving there. I've been to the keys and enjoyed that a lot. So, how is it in Sarasota, any suggestions on sites, operators etc? Thanks.

There are lots of places for diving around Sarasota and upwards of a few hours drive. If you search through the threads in this forum, LOTS of stuff should show up. There are rivers, a barge wreck, springs near by, fossil shark tooth hunting in Venice, Ft Lauderdale and FL east coast diving is a short drive off.... etc..
