GWS mostly are seen off the Farallon's in NorCal. Not that it isn't possible since they also like sea lions but chances are slim and they're not interested in you - you smell like neoprene and make too much noise.
At certain times of year, SixGill sharks migrate thru the Southern Channel islands. They're big sharks but benign.Probably see some horned sharks along the bottom - they're like puppies.
A friend saw blue whale in the kelp once - that's very unusual. He could tell it was big by the way the kelp wall deformed as it passed.
