You can walk next door to Buddy if you decide you want to do any boat diving. Haven't eaten there but heard great things about Between 2 Buns and the new place directly across the street in the strip mall - "Zen" something. Sand Dollar is a great location with a short walk to Capt Don's (Pizza Tample), Buddy (Blennies Pool Bar), Eddie's and Den Laman (Plazita Lamena) for food. All have wide and good selection of foods.

We were at Sand Dollar from March 8-16 and had a FABULOUS time. We were a group of 6 so had a three bedroom condo. There are only a few available and ours looked like it had recently experienced water damage and hadnt been used in a long long time, and was FULL of mosquitoes. However, the office was very responsive to any issues (we had a clogged shower drain and AC outlet) and the condo had all the things we needed for the kitchen (we ate all our meals at home). Without exception everyone we met at Sand Dollar was friendly and helpful (this includes Dive Friends). I felt very safe there, dived Bari reef a number of times and enjoyed it thoroughly. I think you will be very happy there!

We did one trip at Sand Dollar, this was before Dive Friends were there, and we stayed in a studio and dived with Bonaire Dive & Adventure next door. The resort was okay, we had problems with plumbing and air conditioning and eventually they moved us to another room. We prefer Den Laman (they have 1 and 2 bedroom apartments) and BD&A - but again - this was before Dive Friends had an onsite location at SD.

Did Carribean Club back in December. A bit north of town but great stay. We had a one-bedroom apartment which was newly refurbished in the last two years or so. Good breakfast, but the restaurant wasn't good for much after that. Dive op on site, and you could also use Buddy's drive through for tanks. Chose it over Coral Paradise which is a dump by comparison.

If being able to walk to places is important, CCB is not an option. We didn't care, an actually like easy access to northern sites, etc. the whole island is tiny anyway, so what's a few minutes in the truck before dinner, etc.

PS - closest site is Oil Slick Leap, not LeDania's Leap. But agree it's not a "house reef" in the traditional sense.

This is a stupid question but did the kitchen have a blender?

All rental units at SD are required to have a blender. If for some reason it doesn't have one, just ask at the front desk and they will get you one. The front desk staff are awesome and will help you with anything. We wanted fresh fish a couple different nights so they ordered it, had it delivered one day and picked it up for us the other - great service!

That sounds great.

We reserved flights yesterday. I'll reserve the hotel with them tomorrow. Appreciate all the help.
