Hello!
Thanks for the info. I found one shop that's about 5 mi from my hotel, so I've emailed them & we'll see what happens. I think I'd rather stick with FL diving - looks like water temp will be about 60 in SD :(

First welcome to the board.

As to the 60 degrees, I doubt it. 52-58 is more normal. 7mm does just fine in these local waters. Come on down to Travel and Clubs North America/United States/California Kelp Divers/SoCal and join the locals in discussing diving. Our thread Monthly Dive Reports will give you SoCal dive reports for the month including San Diego dives.

For beach dives most of your diving will be in LaJolla Shores or Cove. The Cove is a terrific dive if conditions permit diving. Since the cove faces North and swells in the winter usally come from the north, that may be dicy at this time of year. The LaJolla Shores is all about diving the submarine canyon. This is a deep wall dive. Depths of 90 to well beyond recreational limits are common. Point Lobos is another common dive site. For boat dives Wreck alley is famous and Point Lobos is usally a boat dive too.

Enjyo the diving and if you are there for the Wrinkles Dive (see SoCAl forum for details) I hope you will come and join us.

Welcome to SB...San Deigo diving is great...just too cold this time of year for me...you are braver than I! Enjoy...-ww

Moved from Introductions & Greets forum.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

I'm not to clear on when you plan to be here but I may have missed it.

Now that this thread has been moved to the SoCal section of ScubaBoard you'll probably get some people that will dive with you in this area if you tell us when you're planning to be here.

Dive safe!

Christian
