I inherited a Salvo first stage (nearly identical to HOG D1) that had been cave diving. Apparently, while it was being breathed on, the environmental seal ballooned significantly. The reg was passed on to me to work on, use as a doorstop or paperweight.

I decided to take it apart the other day and I found that the diaphragm had a .5cm tear in it on one side. That's going to be replaced with a kit, but I'm curious if that is enough to cause that ballooning, or if there is something else I should look into.

Thanks!
