Approximately 2 weeks after returning from a dive trip (to St. Thomas) I noticed that there was a slight fluttering in my ears for approximately 3 days. Although the fluttering had stopped, I scheduled an appointment with my doctor and when he looked in my ears he said I had a lot of sand and salt in my ears (I blame this less on diving and more on the riotous body surfing I did during the last few days of my trip). He flushed out my ears several times and he said that there are still, what appear to be, salt crystals in my ear (and what might possibly be a yeast infection). Even after he continued to flush my ears out, some of the crystals were not budging. Odly, when he was flushing out my ears, the fluttering returned briefly.

Have you ever heard of the salt stayin in someones ear for so long? Is this something I should be concerned about? Any suggestions on how to get rid of the problem and possibly avoid it in the future would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Steve

Needed a coke alert on that one.

Might be a good time to remember your snorkel however.
