Okay, so what do you guys (and gals) do to entertain yourselves during safety stops/deco stops? One diver I met would (he said) take cheap paperbacks; my LDS sells waterproof cards; my brother and I blow bubble rings....

I mostly shore dive so I continue to explore until it's time to stand up.

Roll Video Tape!

I posted this before but National Geographic is printed on waterproof paper. SHould easily last for a dive or two and subsequent deco stops. Safety stops however as they are in the neighborhood of 3-5 minutes is a good time for mask drills, buoyancy control, and perhaps even s drills if air supply and training permit. I also use it to explore when shore diving. I've found earrings, bracelets, lures and other small stuff.

I hum tunes through my regulator. Paul Simon, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Dylan, Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Scares the H*** out of the fish.

Most of the time I do nothing, but on occasion I'll play rock paper scissors, steal items clipped on my buddy or surprise my buddy with a little purge of his reg. I know he can handle such shenanigans. I know somebody who has ballroom danced and pole danced on the anchor line but havn't seen it first hand.

On my Island the water is very warm so no one but Asian tourist divers wear wet suits but the houle divers tend to do a lot of flashing and mooning during safety stops. It makes the time go by.
