Spring break is around the corner and the husband, daughters and I are heading east with 5th wheel in tow. I've got a handle on different dive sites and campgrounds in the Panhandle and above Orlando, but what about the Gold Coast?
We are looking for cheap, no-frills RV camping with electric somewhere around Pompano Beach and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Being on the water is not important, but getting stuck in crosstown gridlock would be gruesome.
Shore diving for the first time, and looking forward to it! I understand the shore diving toward Hollywood Beach is also good, so that area would be interesting, too.
We usually go to state and corp of engineers campgrounds.

I have not been to this park for over six years but it was nice back then. I used to shoot in pistol matches that where held on the back forty of this park at their gun range. Not near the shooting range.

Markham park is right off of I-595 which will put you on either the turnpike or I 95 to the diving spots that So Fl is so well known for.

T-Y Park in Hollywood has RV spots and is close to Hollywood beach. Its a straight shot down Sheridan St to the beach. There is beach parking that allows RVs right at the end with some decent shore diving.

Thanks for the info. I've seen on other threads where campers got to the Gold Coast, saw the prices, and decided for their money it made more sense to stay at a Motel 6! Is that reasonable?
