Greetings fellow Dive Rite divers I have heard rumors of a new fin from Dive Rite. Not sure if or what is or what is not, but I would like to know before I buy another set of fins. I have dove the old fins, the black ones currently available, both are awesome. I just thought possibly some of the Dive Rite personnel would give us a clue????
Since DEMA is about wrapped up what would it hurt? I have been very pleased with every Dive Rite product I have purchased. Thanks for your hard work to create solid gear that is "RITE" from the start!! Keep it up!

Hi Cam,

Thanks for your question and for your positive feedback. We are changing the material used for the fins, which should improve their performance. The actual fin design will stay the same. They will be available next year.

Best,
Ag

Please give us a heads up on this material? How will this affect the performance and characteristics of the fin?

Hi MSDT Mark,

The material used to make the fins will be monoprene. The material allows for more flexibility and as such more snap and increased power through the water.

Best,
Ag

I just missed the cut off for buying a set. Do you have a projected time they will be available next year?

Thanks

Do you have the technical diver in mind for this new design? Will this new fin propel a dry suit diver with doubles and stage bottles through the water? Is monoprene a lighter, possibly positive in buoyancy material? Also will the monoprene be a stiffer material than your current design?

I have a pair of the Aqua Lung jet fin knock offs (used once) they are much too flexible for technical diving. So far I wouldn’t trade my current Dive Rite fins for anything, they’re outstanding. I look forward to giving the new Dive Rite design a test dive...

Respectfully,
Mark

Hi Mark,
The fin is definitely for the technical diver and is simply improving the current design. The material itself is not any stiffer but it has more snap. Monoprene is a plastic rubber substitute.

We are expecting them early next year, so keep an eye on our Blog around Jan/Feb as we will announce the fins coming in. Or join us on Facebook - another great way to keep in touch with what Dive Rite is up to.

Best,
Ag

I'm definitely going to buy a pair. My XXL Jets are to heavy in fresh water wearing a wet suit. (Work great in salt water with a wet suit.) I dive a local quarry a lot and I need something a little lighter and comparable to the thrust of the Jets.

I've join DiveRite on Facebook. More people need to join. :)

Michael

Thanks Ag
