I've got 8x MK17s that I use in my rebreathers but have avoided the EVOs because I dislike the positioning of the ports. Maybe Scubapro is going to wise up and go back to the original MK17s?

Great 1st stages for rebreathers.

Michael
For hose routing no doubt! Reliability MK2 for ccr, but the barrell shape is not the best with routing in ccr
Have used apeks dst and ds4, but too many seat failures make me go to the sp mk2 (afaik ccr it's not so exigent on first stages)

Kind regards

Just about to invest in an MK17 G260 set for silty conditions, having second thoughts after reading about the demise of the MK17, should I "upgrade" my choice to an MK19 or be glad to be able to get my hands on an MK17 EVO?

If a turret is not an absolute necessity for your type of diving, there is nothing you would be able to do with mk19evo that you wouldn’t or couldn’t do with mk17evo.

To be honest I am planning to buy at least one or two before they disappear from market as brand new.

Have three (3) MK17 with several 2nds like 370, 600 and 620ti and love them

If you're not rich and/or don't need/want a turret the MK17 is a fine choice, the fact it's being cut from the line makes little difference except soon you won't be able to get one but from a practical stand point it's not really an issue, parts are unlikely to ever be an issue in our life time or your grandkids.
