Snowbear:
So after a week of Tech1, I was more than ready for a few less stressful dives. A wreck diving event was happening in the area, so I decided to stick around for an extra day. For the first dive, got assigned a similarly trained buddy who wanted to take some pictures with me as the model. No problem. A 3rd diver (also GUE trained) joined us as well. Once we found the mooring block, my job was to put some gas in the attached jug and send it up. Mission accomplished and we had an awesome tour of the really cool wreck after that.

...

I posted some pics from the first dive in the Freaks Section under Mooring Day thread - they turned out awesome and thanks for being such a great model

I did do doubles, and if you PM me your home address, i will send them to you

I agee w/ SIMB,

You hear soo much about DIR-F but it seem the Tech-1 students are issued gag orders! Whats the deal???

I really didnt want to hijack snowbear's thread

There is absolutly no secret about this course there are alot of reports on the web and they are all the same every single person is extremely satisfied.. they just show you what your supposed to know at this level of diving and they dont skip on anything from Laying line, working with buddies (task sharing, awareness) proper safe and simple dive planning, boyancy, gear configuration, valve procedure ect...

I don't think they hide anything at all. This picture is from a tech 1 course.

Might want to search a bit more...

Loads of info on there including a breakdown of what is covered and on what days.

You don't really want a critique do you? It sounds like you know what was going on.
Actually - though I did post my mistakes, I was hoping for critical input - but hey, I'll take the congrats :D
MikeFerrara:
I'd rather hear about the tech 1.
OK, OK!! I'll post a report, but I just arrived in Seattle after 56 hours on the road, so it will have to wait a day or 2 :11ztongue

vlada - WOW! nice pix! looking forward to the rest of them.

GRIZZ - Yep, the hose worked out. A 40 incher would actually have been too long! And Yep, I'm in PS. PM or email me about which night(s) this week you want to dive

Holly crap guys!!! I was just jokingly stating that there are moreDIR-F reports than I know what to do w/ and not nearly as many Tech-1 reports!!! I DO know that they arent hidding anything so please dont get you panties in a bunch.

SnowBear,
Cant wait for the report! glad to hear everything worked out.

Snowbear:
I'm getting a bad feeling about this dive,

Why?

When I've dove with new DIR-less buddies its always the crossed eyed look then give me when I dare try to PLAN the dive that gives me a "bad feeling." You know they are not listening and you know they are not thinking. That bad feeling is explained in the Padi Open Water Manual that states that the buddy system only works if the participants want it to work.

Mr. anti-dir doesn't want it to work and your other buddy, we'll call him "floods" is probably way to task loaded to even remember you exist.

You just spent a week in Tech 1 learning you can accomplish 100% more underwater and have 200% more fun if you develop teamwork with your fellow divers and not just jump in a blow bubbles.

This dive was just a reminder about why you signed up for tech 1 in the first place.

My Tech 1 dive report is posted here:
