I ordered a rubber weight belt, the Trident one and all I can say is that this thing is the greatest thing I've used in the past year, right behind AIR!

Everyone should get one, it's that great! I will never go back!!

Uhhmmm, it's made of rubber!! :D:D Please excuse her, she is blonde.

Weights stay put without plastic keeper things, no sliding around.

Depth compensating.

Belt "sticks" to your suit a bit, won't rotate around on you like nylon.

I like them.

Any second now someone will post about the hidden time bomb feature though--your rubber belt can fail at any time, dropping your weights on your buddy's head, then sending you hurtling towards the surface where Type 8 DCS will pop the eyes right out of your head.

I THINK I can get by with harassing Jen since I have dove with her a couple times. Don't try this at home guys. :D

Since Matt brought up the "hidden time bomb feature", how thick is the belt? Is it thick enough that the "time bomb" isn't likely to happen?

The Trident rubber belt seems pretty darn sturdy to me. I don't have it in front me me but I'd say it is 1/8" thick, maybe more.

Yep, it's thick. Matt has it about right. Ok, at the $25.00 price tag I will just buy a new one each year. You should see cracks and stress marks way before the belt breaks.

Actually you're right. There always seems to be someone who thinks anything new has to be dangerous. Although I did hear that if you get them too tight they can cut off circulation and render you impotent...;)
