Any weight pocket you can put on a normal belt (or cam strap) will work fine.
I'd look for four pockets so 3 or 4lb weights can be used to spread the weight out a bit.
Examples:

In cold water I found that running the belt through all my lead shortened the belt significantly. I want to avoid that.
Thanks

If someone wants to shorten one of our belts, it should take 10 seconds and a sharp pair of scissors. Screwing weights to the belt is probably not advisable.

He needs a longer belt as when you thread on normal block weights the belt gets shorter
and he can't spend any more money

A screw through the belt into the lead to keep everything in place evenly around the waist is a brilliant idea

and brilliant in practice too

The quick attach and slide on weight pockets tend to move around the belt if they aren't held in place. The belt keeper/retainers can be used to hold the pockets in place, but they will also shorten the length of the belt a bit.

This could be a good way of holding them in place on the belt, but still allowing adjustment:

Second, these are the ones I always used with my Mako belts.
Specifically the 2nd one and the 4th one. The 2nd went in the back and the 4th towards the front mounted upside down. I sometimes had to take a weight and give to a student even with a proper check. Having it mounted upside down made that quick. The pocket secures with velcro and the little quick clip. Set up like this for over 400 dives I never had an accidental release of the weight.
And yes, in a drysuit, threading standard weights on will shorten it considerably. I didn't use the pinch weights because, as an instructor, I wanted to be able to swap weights quickly depending on the need.

Thanks. The 4th one looks good.
I have the first one and the slots are tight. I struggle threading can bands though them. The rubber would not work.
Much appreciated
