Hi all,

I had a RS-460 reg in yoke configuration. As a step up to doubles I am having it converted to DIN and bought a second RS-460 also in DIN. These will go on a T-Valve / H-valve for now.

When I received my new RS-460 I saw in the manual that TUSA says max depth is 50m. Is this serious? Or just litigation driven? The RS-460 is a clone of the Scubapro Mk16 which I always understood to be a well regarded regulator, but if there really is something in the design that limits it to 50m I would have to replace the two RS-460 regs with something more suitable.

Thanks!

HI sanderw-
No, there is no maximum depth for a regulator. Of course, there is an optimal depth range where WOB (work of breathing) is minimized. As you increase depth the inhalation effort or WOB is increased, but there is typically no max depth and not one for the RD-460. The manual information is for best performance less than 50m.

Thank you.

I figured it had to be something like that, but nice to have it confirmed :)

Have a wonderful weekend!
