I recently purchased a RS-340. When I do my pre-dive checks, it almost feels like something is sticking when i inhale yet underwater, it breathes fine and I now have four dives on it with no problems. My only concern is it seems my air consumption has increased.
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

I use the RS-340 on a stage bottle and absolutely love it. I have never experienced any issues with either breathing resistance or breathing rate so I am not sure of what problem you had. When breathing on the surface mine has been smooth as well.

HI,
All regs are designed to be used in water with water pressure exerted on the diaphragm. When breathing on land the diaphragm may "shutter/flutter" or give off an unusual sound when inhalation occurs. This is normal and if this does not persist underwater, the reg should be performing properly.
