First let me say that I have read that there is much better fins out there. I even read on one thread that the poster would give his Rocket fins away. All that being said.. I have some ScubaPro fins I bought when I first got certified in 2003( I don't know what kind .. it doesn't say) they are really hard plastic and not very comfortable.

I bought a pair of Rocket Fins on E-bay for 25.00 .. apparently 25.00 to much according to some members... I also purchased a pair of SS spring straps w/ a rubber backing that has a loop to grab it with for 32.00

I just got the dremel out and removed the old straps and put the new ones on and tryed them on and all I can say is they are WAY more comfortable than my old ones. I don't know about performance but they feel great!

Are these fins as bad ( performance wise ) some people make them out to be ?

Yeah, they are pretty darned bad. Trade them in for a pair of Jets. Jets and Rockets look somewhat alike, but they are totally different in the water.

... depends on what you mean by 'performance'.

Seconded.

UUGGHHHH... So i guess I can add these to me E-bay steel tank fiasco. I'm still gonna check em out myself. I have been doing mostly lake diving ... no current... so maybe they'll be ok for that.
