Hey, longtime listener, first time caller. Anyway, I've been watching a lot of how-tos on cleaning rock scallops, and I notice that people pretty much just toss the roe overboard with most of the guts when they're cleaning them. I know that a lot of scallop species, the roe is pretty tasty and desirable.
Is this a safety concern because of paralytic shellfish poisoning threat in California, or is the roe just not good to eat, or do people just not know what they're missing?
Thanks all.
(BTW, anyone diving on the Great Escape Saturday, see you there)
