Here is a link to IANTD Mod 2. It clearly states no dives greater than 200 FSW. Also - Must have 20 dives and 25 hours on the CCR being used. That was fast. I was only shown the proofs yesterday. I'm very grateful someone else posted it. And yes it's true I don't always read every post on this thread, but thanks for pointing it out.

If they were diving 10/50 they had to have been on mod 3. Mod 2 is normoxic.

Do you know how much minimum time he would have had on the Draeger rebreather to be able to be certified as an instructor?

With all his certifications and qualifications he technically probably only had to do a crossover course on the Revo, He was already a full trimix diver and instructor.

I am neither a tech instructor nor a rebreather diver. But I can’t remember any similarities about a Dolphin and a rEvo or open circuit trimix vs closed circuit trimix. So is there a “shortcut” going from OC trimix to CC trimix? Or from SCR to CCR?

IIRC you need 25 hours between Mod 1 and Mod 2 and between Mod 2 and Mod 3. The only shortcut is going from one CCR to another. That doesn’t seem to be the case here.

I could be wrong, and I’m sure if I am I will be corrected, but there is no straight crossover from SDC to CCR. To cross from one CCR to another requires 180 minutes of diving on the new unit. I did mine on Wookie’s former boat. He yelled at me!

I find this new updated information very interesting, the question it raises with me is, how many students did Mr. Stewart ever instruct in the various disciplines which he has instructor certificates for.

In my mind, you're not an instructor if your only credentials are plastic cards.

You only truly become an instructor through years of experience in instructing.

Taking courses and collecting cards ''does not make an instructor''. nor does it give you ''instructor experience''.

What is learned is soon forgotten without continuous practical application.

As a charter operator, I would provide 10/50 for my Mod 2 divers. The rebreather does a far better job blending trimix than I possibly could.

Oh, I absolutely agree with everything you wrote. I'm only interested in the instructor angle because the claim before was that the third dive was a "trust me" dive where Stewart came along as a relatively recent rebreather diver. But if he was an instructor on a Dräger unit it establishes a certain minimum experience that he would have had.
