Does anybody know the best way to travel from San Pedro Sula to Roatan- other wise than by air. How long does it take?

SPS - LA Ceiba via Bus (Suggest Hedman Alas, Viana or DIANA) (2:30 hour drive) - Cost 9 dollars approx.
La Cieba - Roatan via Ferry (Galaxy II) leaving daily to roatan and Utila (2:00 hours boat ride) Cost - 15-20 dollars approx.

I've done the trip from San Pedro Sula to Roatan a few times. The cheapest way is by bus/ferry. Try to get an express buss from San Pedro to La Cieba - it's about $3 US for the 200 km 3 hour trip with buses leaving every hour between 6 am and 6 pm (if you have time, go to one of jungle lodges at Pico Bonito national park for some rafting and/or a canopy tour - http://www.hondurasjungletours.net/ a great deal at a beautiful location for only $25 including one nights lodging ). Then you can take the ferry for about $11 US to Roatan. If you chose to fly from San Pedro Sula to La Cieba and on to Roatan it is not that expensive - about $55 US. You also could take the bus there and fly back ...
