We live about 60 miles above the Fla. state line. We usually fly out of Orlando when we head south. I have decided to put my wife on the task of finding flights. After looking farther into flights, we have found some better deals. We don't mind driving to Miami for a decent price since our kids aren't going with us on this trip. We did find some decent prices on expedia a few days ago. I agree about being used to the heat and trying to be in the water as much as possible, above and below!

Well too bad you won't be there in June. Where do you usually dive? We are taking our kids but they are 19 and 20 and both dive... can't wait..
do check american out of Miami. It was worth the dive for us to save the money.
Where are you staying? We are staying at Las Rocas. Wanted to be on that side of the island so the kids will have a choice of doing things.

Sorry for the long void in posting. We have been on Spring Break.
My wife and I haven't made up our mind exactly which week we are going to try to go. We are still trying to get our summer schedule set for our boys. Then we will be able to set when the wife and I are going. Our big family trip is at the end of July when summer semester lets out for our two college age kids We have pretty much decided on Roatan. I have family in Florida and plan to leave our dog in Melbourne then catch the flight from where ever is cheapest. So, driving to Miami is no big deal for us. We usually fly out of Orlando Int. on American. We have four boys ages 20, 19,13, and 8. My oldest son and I dive now. He has been certified for about 5 years now. My 13 year old is getting certified the last week of June. My wife had a resort cert. and never finished. So, she wants to get her C-card and join us. We mostly make it a family outing. We dive all over North Florida. We have a family cabin on the Santa Fe river, right in the middle of all the spring diving of North Florida. We are up for diving about anywhere.
Hope your trip goes well. Also, hope our trip gets booked so we will be for sure going.

Well too back your oldest ones are going with at the same time we are. That would be fun. Hope your plans all work out and definately check American out of Miami. It does fly into San Pedro Sula and then we are taking the ferry over to Roatan. We have a driver picking us up at the airport. It will be an adventure and we can't wait.
