True enough...And USUALLY the winds are lightest April and September, but this year April was uncharacteristically breezy (great for comfort on land, but tougher on dive conditions)...Which goes to show you're always playing the percentages, and there's no guarantee except for the fact that diving Roatan is still going to be better than a day in the office (or diving most anywhere else)

Oct Through Feb is rainy season. Oct, Nov and Dec you should expect ALOT of RAIN and very little sun. Diving vis WILL be impacted. Jan and Feb expect about equal days of rain and sun and lower visabilty. March expect much more days of sun than rain. April through Sept expect mostly sunny and a chance of rain.
If you go with these expectations. Now you can go in Dec and get a perfect week, but don't expect it. Chances are it will rain.

We are going for our 10th two week trip to CoCo View in April. There is a reason CoCo View is the most returned to dive resort in the Caribbean. Great diving, great dive masters and captains and flat out the best dive boats I’ve ever been on in 52 years of diving.

Mpst of what passes for nightlife on Roatan is in the West End - 2 miles closer than Doc's 40mins. to West Bay estimate.
We were advised to stay out of Cocen Hole at night. There didn't seem to be much reason to go there druing the day either.

The only thing in Coxen Hole worth stopping at 1) Eldon's grocery store to get any munchies or other things you need through the week and 2) the cruise ship docs. If you like to shop, they have some nice stuff there. I agree I would not go there at night.

Depends on your perspective, and since the OP seems to have centered on CoCoView, what passes for nightlife is located 50' South of your room.
Each night, I usually see 8 to 15 divers wading in about 8pm. Those are the 30 dives-in-a-week crowd. Everyone is free to play, no extra charge or AOW required.
