Most here are PADI or other recreational divers, I may be mistaken but are,'t penetrations limited by depth? By recreational standards wouldn't any penetration of the Haliburton exceed standards?

Not a PADI Wreck Instructor, Never read their standards and procedures for the specialty, that is what I prefaced my post as I did. Verifying information? Come on, If I had that then why would I have asked the question to start with? What next? Are you going to want to compare size of our members, Uhhh PADI Member numbers?

Let me also appologize to you, While some may have come to believe I am an expert with all things but as mentioned, the PADI wreck course just is not my thing, I come from a Cave background and while I never should have, I guess I assumed the overhead and training standards would have been the same for both courses, When I was actively teaching cavern and doing the NSS-CDS stuff the PADI maximum depth for training in that course was 70ft which of course may have now changed as well, of course with overhead being an option for the wreck course I can see the differences in training depth limits

Sounds good is Coral View or UDC closer to the Lighthouse Inn. Is nitrox required? Also I have been hearing about safety being an issue in Honduras is there anything you can tell me so I can be better prepared?

I'm a wreck instructor and work at Deep Blue Divers which is even closer to Lighthouse than UDC, and Matt Awty from Coral View is our course director. So while you're checking dive schools out, please also consider us. We're a smaller shop that can offer a more individualized experience than many of the other shops on the island, and wreck is my favorite specialty to teach. All of our regular instructors are IDC Staff Instructors.

Nitrox is not required, but it certainly offers you an advantage, especially during penetration. We are currently running a wreck/enriched air combined specialty package as well.

Safety is not an issue with the vast majority of dive shops on Utila and Roatan, so whoever you choose you will most likely be in safe hands. Most certainly you would be with us, Coral View, or UDC.
