Hello everyone,

I have been reading the board for quite a while, and I REALLY have read all the notes about Dive Operators in Roatan, but still have a few questions. (Sorry, its Genetic ! You ought to talk to my grandmother !!)

I have done Roatan via cruise ship before and we did a dive through Fantasy Island, and that was great, but Im travelling with a group of 6, two non-divers, but snorklers, and I would like to see whats going on in the West End as well. My problem is I want to fit too much into too little time !

I know CoCo View is a great resort, and if time was not an option, I would not question it. Im trying to talk my husband into a week in Roatan, and I dont think that just seeing the ride from the boat to CCV is going to sell him on a week there !

Since the boats use AKR, the only other option Im looking at is Pura Vida dive shop (having ruled out Bananarama and BIBR). The appealing thing to me is that they say they can get to dive locations in 15 minutes, but my question is can they get me to GOOD dive locations in 15 minutes ?

Any information regarding how much I can reasonably expect to cram into 5 hours, or info on Pura Vida's operation, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much, lori

---Split up the group. Send the snorklers with the cruise ship to the West End. If you want to dive and dive good only with a few hours, my choice would be Subway Divers at French Harbour Yacht Club. VERY fast boats and a tight operation. Not your typical cruise ship operation. If you are a diver who knows the drill, go with them.

---A perfect place to mix snorklers and divers.

---When it's time, just take him for the week at CCV. He'll love it (if he's the snorkler!

---Depends upon what you mean by "good". They are subject to variable weather, equipment issues, etc.
