as Under Water said... the shore dives at SCC were easy, but that is the only place on Cozumel with such a shore diving setup.
I did a whole video showing it here:

our last trip to SCC photos are here: Cozumel - April 2010

the shore diving at CCV is very easy also, just a little longer walk around one building, not long just longer that at SCC. However, the having a wreck and 2 walls to shore dive at CCV gave more variety of coral and such. So though they are very different, they both offer great diving.

I found at SCC though it took all day to do 3 dives (2 boat dives, 1 shore dive) and at CCV I could get in 4 during the same period, all lasting about an hour. Part of the reason is that the reefs are farther from resort at SCC, so more time in transit. Plus the restaurant at SCC is sitdown ordering instead of buffet... so you spend more time waiting for food to arrive, etc. CCV is setup to get off boat, rinse off, and walk right into Clubhouse to eat. It can be done very quickly and you are back out diving.

robin:D

The other way to do it is to stay south on Cozumel, say at the Allegro, and then you have much shorter boat rides, and the dive operations work more like say Fantasy Island or AkR, with single tank boat dives and your Surface Intervals are done at the resort. They also have a buffet out by the pool during the day which speeds up eating as well.

54 days?! I wish I could be there now, but I have SO much to do yet... Well, I guess it will be a very busy 54 days! It'll go fast indeed! :)

Look forward to meeting you Tammy! I'll be there with my bestest pal Kari (aka dive trip partner extraordinaire). Maybe we should start an August at CCV thread next month..lol

Hey rayaslin -

Glad to hear you're having such a great time at Fantasy Island. Who are you diving with (what divemaster) and who is your boat captain?

Thanks so much for all the great pics!

We dove with Little Kashi - Pedro (Captain) and Miguel (DM). On our last dive day (Saturday) we dove on little Tavito, and I can't actually remember our captain and DM name - we only did 2 tanks with them. It's nice having the same DM and Captain all week. You really form a good rapport with them, they know what to expect out of you, you know what to expect out of them.
