What airline connections are you going to have to slog through?

Going thru Houston. Direct flight Amsterdam->Houston but have to sleep there to get the morning flight Houston->Roatan.

We always stay at the Houston Airport Marriott as it is right on the airport property. There is a little light rail system that runs under the airport and hotel so no need for shuttle van. I ask for a room on the courtyard as my wife smokes so she can step out the door into the pool courtyard from the room.

Can you find interesting things to see in the Caribbean? Sure you can. But you have to look a lot harder. What you WILL find in the Caribbean is much better visibility, as a rule. You see, that "stuff" in the water that makes for less vis is mostly food for the fish/reef/critters. That is why the somewhat lessor vis in the pacific supports three times the biodiversity than you will find in the Caribbean.
