In September of 2013, join us for a week of diving on pristine Caribbean reefs on one of the last hidden gems, Roatan Island, Honduras.
We stay at Turquoise Bay Dive & Beach Resort, where you will enjoy the very individual and personal service that only a small dive resort can offer. The friendly local staff takes pride in getting to know our guests and making them feel at home.
This vacation is all about diving, with 3 boat dives per day and one night dive during our stay. Turtles are a common sight, as is the occasional eagle ray, and barracuda. Large grouper and wrasse are seen on most dives, especially the El Aguilla wreck where theyre quite tame and will come over to investigate you. Reef squid can be found frequently in the shallows and sandy patches and there are nice swim-throughs at a number of the dive sites. Lobsters are abundant, as are large crabs, and conch. Though macro life is harder to come by, with only an occasional flamingo tongue, cleaner shrimp, or arrow crab.
During the afternoon/evening, well have a group car our clients can arrange for trips off the resort. The main tourist area, the West End, is a 35 minute drive across the island, where youll find restaurants and shops to explore. With British roots, residents of Roatan speak good english, so its easy to get around and communicate.
$975 diver rate/$875 non-diver rate ~ $475 for kids 5-10 staying with 2 paid adults ~ Kids 0-4 stay free with 2 paid adults and Single Supplement +$200
