Road conditions

I have a friend that is driving from Detroit Mi to Phoenix Az on the 24th or 25th of January. Was wondering if anyone in the path of his rout could post the road conditions in your area (closer to the weekend) so he will have an idea of what rout he should take. Thanks.

No snow in the forecast for NW Ohio.

Historically, I80/90 toward Chicago is pretty good even under moderate to heavy snow conditions due to turnpike crews being on top of things.

The second best option under snow conditions is I75 south.

Of course, he probably has a preferred route already picked out. Is he hoping to go south first, or west first?

Having driven part of this route before, my druthers would be I75s to I70w to I44w to I40w, then I17s into Phoenix.
