knotical:
Thanks for a great idea Waterskier.

The last thing I NEED is another T-shirt. But I WANT that one.

How to depict the oysters? One approach is CON8IV’s.
Another is more subtle with the words Rocky Mountain Oysters and a design with aquatic oysters in it (perhaps with a mountain backdrop). That leaves the viewer to wonder whether there really are oysters up here, or whether we’re referring to the culinary delicacy.

I’d also like to see our slogan included. I think it was ABQdiver who came up with:
“Divers with Altitude”. < Note that he didn’t say attitude. >

So that leads to one possible design suggestion:

On the back:
“Rocky Mountain Oysters” across the top.
“Divers with Altitude” across the bottom.
And in between, a drawing with some cartoon oysters (perhaps with eyes) in a mountain lake.

On the front:
The Scubaboard logo above where a pocket would be.

Great ideas!! I think the whole idea is a GREAT one waterskier1!

The bull with the mask on the forehead sounds pretty funny!! Just as long as there are no bull balls, I'm good!!! :shakehead: :rofl3:

So, anyone know a artistically inclinded RMO that will work for free?

Great ideas guys! Love it. :D I am an artist but not a graphic artist so I don't think I could do it without some help. Anyone got some sketches or logos from somewhere else that we could use to get started? I'd be willing.

Stella used to sell a t-shirt at Blue Hole that had a cactus with scuba gear on the front, map of BH on back. Very cute (I have 2 of them). I kept telling her she was missing out by not keeping them in stock. Every time I wore mine there people would ask me where to get it. I bet if you get a new shirt designed you could sell them at BH to divers and students.

robin:D

edit: I just went thru Cafepress website browsing on "bull" and came up with over 2000 designs (most of which were pit bull, bulldog, etc, lots of Vick designs that were interesting!) and I have some ideas. But still send me some ideas if you have them. I will start working something up....
BTW, there is already a Rocky Mt Oysters t-shirt on Cafepress but it is for somebody in Wyoming.

I saw the PM to HowardE on this, and I also think it's a great idea. Howard has some *connections*, and knows how to go about this. I'm VERY positive that using the SB logo is a non issue. More advertising for SB!

I'll see if I can get in touch with Howard and discuss this after the holiday weekend. I know he did the invasion shirts, and maybe the current SB shirts as well. Unfortunately a lot of T-shirt printers want big runs before they will do it for a reasonable price, and maybe that is where Howard can help out. I don't think we would want more than 30 or so based on current participation on the RMO forum.

BTW folks we lost our RMO member list with the server crash, so if you have not added your name back to the NEW Sticky list please do so. We had about thirty names, and now we are stuck at much less than that.

Ron,

Been in touch with Howard. In fact, I got the okay for use of the ScubaBoard logo from him before I even posted this. He gave me a name, and I have someone who is interested also. Depends on the quantity. She can do small runs much cheaper, she says. She doesn't do the silk screen process though. I'm meeting with her tonight and see what she has to offer. Howards *connection* is in Bonaire for the week.

In either case, we either need to come up with a custom design, or use a "canned" design. It looks like the more colors we use, the more it will cost. But the setup charge for silk screening is the big expense. It's a one time charge, so the more shirts we order the less per shirt. From what I have read, they charge a setup for each color and each "location". I have looked at other dive shirts from other clubs, and it looks like they try to put everything in one "location" buy incorporating the Name, picture/logo, and any other type in one "picture". That way you don't have to pay for a set up for the name, another for the picture/logo, another for the slogan, etc. I can scan one shirt I think was done well, if you'd like to see for idea...or I can post the website for the club where they are on sale. But, it's the design that really makes a shirt.

Sounds like you've done some homework! Let's not rush this however. I know of a couple of people who maybe interested in doing the art work, but I have no idea if they would expect to be paid. I think we should make sure we like the art before committing.

So let us all know the options. The SB logo as already been done assuming we use someone who has printed SB tee's.

Sign me up.
I think that's a great idea. Like others, I have too many T-Shirts, but the only T's I still wear on any regular basis are my dive shirts.
Most of my artist-friends have moved away, too bad.
Please post the design concept(s) when they're done.

- Cheers!
