RIP Diving Dubai

I just heard this evening that Martin ( @Diving Dubai ) passed away peacefully a couple of days ago at home in Devon after leaving Dubai a couple of years ago having been diagnosed with cancer.

Martin loved diving up in Musandam and frequently organised many dhow trips up in that area of North Oman.

You were already missed over the past few years since you left the UAE, may you Rest in Peace.

I am so sorry to hear this terrible news. I have been sending him PMs over the past several months but have not received an answer. The last PM was only a couple of days ago. He used to reply to me but stopped suddenly.

May he rest in peace. May Allah give patience and solace to his family and friends.

Very sad to hear this. I corresponded with Martin many times, especially regarding his knowledge and experience with dive computers

Due to limited number of pictures that I can upload in a post, I split this trip report into 2 parts.

Part 1

Background

Let me start with a bit of a background on how I get to dive in Munsandam, Oman. I had couple weeks of business trip in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in early May. Since Dammam is near Dubai (about 85-minute flight), I thought it would be fun to do some divings in UAE or Oman while in the neighborhood during the 2 weekends.
