pasley:At home, I went to a feed store and purchased a horse watering trough, 2'x2'x4' with a plug in the bottom (which I replaced with a ball valve). I hose rinse my gear and then soak it in the water trough for a couple of hours (often over night). My 1st stage is attached to the tank and all of it goes into the rinse tank for a soak. I made a fame work of PVC pipe filled with sand as a weight to hold everything under water. Every few weeks I add some BCD Shampoo to the tank for a soak, then I dump the tank (I have an acrylic lid on it to keep the trash out).
I think it would easily accommodate two or maybe more rigs. The acrylic lid allows the sun to warm the water some while I am out having a dive day and keeps the trash out of the water. I usually drain the rinse tank every 3 or 4 weeks depending on how much sand has accumulated in the bottom. The PVC weight grid filled with sand/dirt from my flower bed (which next time will include 2 LB of lead inside or one more cross bar as I wish it was just a tad heavier) also doubles as a drain board when removing the gear. The installation of the ball valve in place of the plug that came with the tank makes draining it a snap. I can also attach a hose if I like to recycle the water onto the lawn. But I worry about the salt content on the lawn over time as I do dive every week. Well at least I would if this rain would stop. Last dive 23 Dec and it has not stopped for more than one day since. We are now scheduled for five straight days of rain. The runoff pollutes the ocean making diving for 2-3 days after a rain an invitation for illness.spectrum:That sounds like a sweet rig. Do you think it would handle 2 sets of gear?
