Hi.

I'm looking to rig a strap to my BP/Wing setup that holds up my BP/Wing--by looping around the tank valve--while I'm locking the tank straps as well as my pony bottle. You know, the kind of strap found on most BCDs today.

I have a Scubapro SS backplate, an Oxycheq travel STA, and a Dive Rite Junior Wing--a simple setup, nothing fancy.

I can pick up some 1" soft webbing as well as a 1" slider from DR Express. Problem is where/how to took it to the BP or STA? It would seem unwise to hook the strap to the top-most hole in the BP (though this would be easiest) because this would run the strap tightly over the top of the wing, restricting air flow across the top of the wing (though I could always loosen the strap after my rig is setup--but then that's one more thing to remember and therefore to forget). The only other option would seem to be to hook the strap somehow to the STA (which of course is behind the wing).

Has anyone come up with something effective on their own rig?

Thanks.

I used a piece of rope run thru the top webbing slots and knotted between the plate and wing. No very pretty but works fine. I actually used Army antenna tiedown rope whis is very durable and lies fairly flat. I don't know if there is a civilian equivalent.

Make sure whatever you use does not stretch once it gets wet. Been there done that!
