Join us on August 14th, our guest speaker will be Mike Boring. Socializing begins at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at La Siesta Restaurant on Midlothian Turnpike.
Mike Boring's fascination with shipwrecks began on his first wreck dive off of the New Jersey coast in 1971. Since then he has explored wrecks in many parts of the world, from warm tropical islands in the Pacific to the icy waters of the Baltic sea.
The evening presentation will summarize "35 years of wreck diving" covering numerous expeditions, from the recovery of the Andrea Doria bell, rediscovery of the steam schooner Eureka off the Virginia coast, searching for treasure on a Spanish Galleon in deep water off Guam, exploring the wrecks from Battle of Jutland in the North Sea, and a chilling dive to histories deadliest maritime disaster off the coast of Poland.
Mike now lives in Chester, Virginia and is a proud new member of the Richmond Dive Club.
