No, the upgrade thru Orbitz varies a lot. $20 is kinda high really. I saw a sign in the lobby that they give free upgrades to repeat customers who book thru Orbitz, but I like to guarantee the large room in advance if I can get it cheap enough. We paid $7/night to upgrade I think, on an air & hotel package with $200/room discount.

The day we arrived there were three signs to that effect at the front desk, one each for Orbitz, Expedia, and Travelocity. I noticed later in the week there were only two, Orbitz and one of the others (can't remember which).

I'm sure that would be if they had empty Superior rooms open. And you never know if a hotel is being honest about free upgrades. I have busted others withholding such enough that I don't count on it. If I can upgrade in advance for $10/night or less, I'll do that. $20/night is high for me; I'm so cheap.

DD is correct. I paid $7. US to upgrade in August but they wanted $20. in high season. I asked about the free upgrade to repeat Orbitz customer that is posted on the wall behind the desk and was told that is only good during low season. It is worth your while contacting them directly and asking about it.

Thanks for all the response. Some good info:D

When we booked with Orbitz the upgrade was 30 night. Too much for 3 seperate rooms and the info I've read on SB so went with standard considering we get our own rooms anyways. No snoring comps that way.

This will be the first trip to Villablanca but 3rd time diviving with Scuba Mau. Last May and Sept stayed at Hotel Coz and had a great time.

With price increase in the airfare and hotel this year were paying the same as last year but dropping the All inclusive package included last year at Hotel Coz. All inclusive was great but we still ended up in town most nights for dinner. In Sept I spent most afternoons at La Palapita and La hatch anyways, So we thought we would try the Villy this trip.

C-ya in Coz,

Thanks for the review RT, I am excited to hear of your positive experience. We are going to stay at VB and dive with Scuba Mau in April. I think we got a great deal for the package dealing directly with Opal for all of it. Happy to hear that the shore diving is fun, I can't wait. Thanks for taking time to post a review!
