with EL NIdo resorts you just hop on "THEIR" planes and as soon as you land, you would be escorted and brought to the islands resorts.

Two main resort islands, Miniloc resort is where the scuba diving is done.

island hoping is part of the package , three nights is average stay.

intro dive is also part of the package. the DMs swim for non finners....
come to think of it, i haven't made a trip report on Miniloc yet..... i'm a :dork2:

bumping this thread back to the top...just got back from boracay and am heading to el nido tomorrow morning...paolov (or anyone else), can you tell me how it works when staying at lagen? do you boat or fly over to miniloc, or is there any diving close to lagen that is worthy? how long is the boat/plane ride to miniloc???

thank you thank you

I was just researching a trip to El Nido and I think my local travel agent mentioned that the dive shop is on Miniloc (the older resort). If you're staying at Lagen, then they just boat you over I think. Lagen is the newer one so the buildings are a bit nicer.

How's the research going Pakman? We're not going to El Nido but we're considering Discovery Divers in Coron this Oct. and I was looking for any additional information from any of you who've stayed there. Based on what I've found, it seems to be the most reasonably affordable resort in the area besides staying at Michaelangelos Hotel. Does anyone know if the accomodations are based on double occupancy? The packages are full board so I'd also like to know how the food is (not that I'm picky, I'm happy to eat whatever is set in front of me) and if there are other places in the area to go for meals, drinks etc? Any more information will be appreciated, and beyond that, I guess I'll know more when I contact the resort.

there is a dive shop as well in Lagen and a swimming pool too.
yes Lagen is the nicer place.

but most dive sites are around miniloc island.

but they got speed boats wheezing all over the place so they can get you to the several islands they control, meaning EXCLUSIVE use of El Nidos guests. on the islands would have dinning areas and bars.

most guest would be ferried to both miniloc and Lagen either for breakfast or lunch.

dive action is in miniloc and they got jacks swimming with guests in miniloc as in they swim inches away from guests in the water. around 1m jacks.
