Buddies Pat B (AttitudeAdjuster) Phil, and I headed out to the Poling this morning on CAD's 2007 maiden voyage. It was high tide, calm seas and the air temps hovered around 30°. The big boat pushed off at 11:00 and we were tied into the mooring at the break 20 minuets later.
Aside from a mess of stringy stuff floating in the water down to around 20 feet, the water was clear, no current, with vis on the bottom at around 30' or so. My computer registered 41° as the coldest temp, but Capt. Steve said he measured 39° at the surface. Either way it was chilly and the movement is just now returning to my fingers (gotta get me some dry gloves).
I was poking around in the rubble pile off the port side and found a reasonably decent mask. After I got home and cleaned it up I realized hat it has prescription lenses in it and I can't see past 5' with it. So if anyone can lay claim to it, it's yours.
Although we had the boat for two dives, we only had the heart for one. At least my fingers were not going back into the water. Just the same it was a real nice dive for early February. I'm looking forward to heading back out on the 27th.
