I'm a Fish!
I was wondering if anyone has replaced parts on a steel biller and where would be the best place to order parts, spearshafts, shock cords, etc.?

I have decided to start taking two guns with me. I have a Riffe C2X, but it's a little much for legal snapper and grouper. I also have the old steel 42 that I started with. It's great around wrecks and rubble since its a little more maneuverable when looking under stuff.

But the steel 42 has been sitting in my garage for a couple of years, and it's in need of refurbishing -- especially the muzzel and two plastic spear guides. The firing mechanism seems to be in pretty good shape. I got the muzzel off easy enough, but the spear guides don't have any screws. They must be glued on. Before I take a pair of vice gripes to them, thought I would ask the experts here. Any advice would be appreciated.

Your questions about the plastic guides on the SS stock are not likely to be answered by a dealer. I was a dealer for many years and we never stocked those replacement parts. They probably are glued on as you suspect. You could call Andre Biller for the best advice. (630) 529-2729 FAX (630) 529-4473 email: mail@abbiller.com

The rest of the parts, like biller shafts and shock cords, etc. are commonly stocked by most dive stores.

I don't know the dealers in your area, but good spearfishing ones that mail order are:
Austin's in Miami 305-665-0636 http://www.austinsdiving.com/
Florida Freediver in West Palm 561-848-0678 http://www.flfreedivers.com/home.html

Thanks Chad, I appreciate your response. I've just about decided to leave the spear guides in place and see how the gun performs with just a new muzzel. They are easy enough to aquire and easy to replace.
